Spinach is called as the “power” food in the nutritional world. It is rich in iron and also have calcium, folate, magnesium, vitamin C and vitamin A. Spinach is also having two other nutrients (lutein and zeaxanthin) which are important for healthy eyes. Many people dont like green leaves. But it is very nutritious , must have atleast once a week. Even though you dont like green leaves or spinach ,try this crispy vadai. Really you gonna love it and also your body going to gain above mentioned all nutrients.
Ingredients
Channa dal / Kadalai paruppu – 1 1/2 cup
Frozen Spinach – 1/2 cup or fresh chopped Spinach – 1 cup
Red onion – 1/4 chopped
Green chilly – 2
Fennel /Sombu – 1 tsp
Ginger – 1/2 inch chopped
Salt
Oil for deep frying
Method
1. Soak the channa dal in water for 30 to 50 minutes. wash and coarsley grind it. (without adding water)
2. Add all other ingredients to this ground dal and make it like vada and deep fry in oil until brown and crispy.
Note : Fresh chopped spinach is good than the frozen one. (The frozen Spinach have more water ) If there is no other option you can try that. You can try this vada with any kind of green leaves.

u used frozen spinach? i was hesitating to use it till coz of water content in them. may be i will try it next time:) vadai looks awsome jasu. wish i could grab some:(
Hi Sia, frozen spinach is an option. If using frozen ,squeeze out the excess water and then add it to the dal.
But I prefer the fresh spinach.
