Little Hearts / Palmiers

This “little heart” of mine was made by seeing vineela’s palmiers. This is my entry for Monthly blog patrolling “Finger food and starters’ of Coffee and for Meeta’s Monthly Mingle “Sweet Love” event. I used powdered almond, coconut and sugar to roll the pastry. Make this little hearts and have fun on v’day.

Ingredients
Puff pastry – 1 roll
Coconut powder- 1/4 cup
Almond powder – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Method
1. Thaw the puff pastry. Combine the coconut powder, almond powder and sugar.
Spread 1/2 of combined powder over the work surface and roll the pastry sheet into a rectangle. Repeat the same for the other side too.
2. Click the link to fold the rolled pastry. After the thrid step in the picture, cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate it for an hour.
3. Now take the pastry sheet out from the fridge and proceed the fourth step
4. Cut the pastry sheet into 1/2 inch slices. Press each slice gently with your palm. place them in the baking sheet. Keep 1 1/2 inch space between each slice.
5. Preheat the oven for 425F. Bake them for 7-8. (time may vary depending upon your oven) check them in between, because they tend to be brown very fast of the sugar. Cook it in a rack and store it in a air tight container.
