I don’t know exact name of this snack. But this looks like conch and so we called this as sangu (Conch in english, Sangu in tamil).

Ingredients
Maida/all purpose flour – 2 cups
Sugar – 1 cup
Water -1 cup
Salt for taste
Method.
1. Add salt with all purpose flour and knead it by adding enough water. (like chapthi dough)
2. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a thin chapthi.

3. Cut it into squares. Take a square and fold diagonally to form a triangle. Again join the longest edge. (Don’t fold it into another triangle, but bring the two edges upward and join and now u get the dhape of a conch) Press the edges tightly. (So it wont seperate while frying)
4. Add enough oil in a pan and deep fry each pieces until golden brown. Repeat the process with all the pieces.
5. Now in vessel add one cup of sugar and a cup of water. Allow it to boil. If you pour a little drop of sugar in little water it shouldn’t dissolve.
6. This is the correct stage, now pour the sugar syrup over the fried pieces and mix everything together, so the pieces get coated well with sugar. Let it cool for sometimes and store it in a air tight container.
