It is a very simple snack made with potato and peas. It looks like a birds nest and so it called. I have made something with peas and some with raisins. Here is the thing for you to enjoy with your kids.
Ingredients
Potato – 1
Onion -1/4 chopped
Green chilly -1 chopped
Cashews and raisins
Vermicelli for rolling
Maida/All purpose flour – 1tbsp
Method
1.Cook the potato and mash it.

2.Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, green chillies and the crushed cashews and raisins and now the mashed potato.
3. Finally add salt and some chopped cilantro. (I didn’t want it to be more spicy. If u want you can add ginger/garlic paste and garam masala and whatever powder you want)
4.Now add little water with all purpose flour.
5.Now make a small ball from the potato mixture and place few cooked peas inside and make it a ball. (you can also use raisins to have brown eggs)

6.Now dip this ball in the allpurpose batter and then roll it in vermicelli and deepfry it in oil.
7. Now the birds nest is ready for your kids to enjoy.
8. serve with tomato Sauce.

Looks like a snack made with potatoes, peas and vermicelli.
Btw, can you please tell me what oil and the quantity u used for making parotta . I have tried so many parotta recipes and have failed every time
Iam not giving up , will try your method too coz they look perfect.
Priya thanks for visiting. Any kind of vegetable oil is good. But my view , it is nothing with oil but how your are kneading the dough. It should be so soft(elastic stage) . Roll it as much as possible (into a thin layer)you can apply a spoon of oil to roll it into a thin layer. The very important thing is after folding it roll it(instead of roughly rolling) from one end to another. So you can get layers while rolling it again. I have explain it in the post. Have a nice cooking:)

Hi,
I would second Priya’s guess regarding the ingredients….mashed potatoes, peas for the filling and vermicelli for the outer crust. Waiting for the answer
Got here from your comment in Vee’s blog, You have a very nice blog. My mother used to make something similar to whats in the pic…we called it Birds Nest !!
Priya good guess ,of course it is birds nest.
Thank you leaving a comment.

what is the ‘all purpose batter’ you refer to in step 6? how do you make it?
Hi sumrina,
Sorry , I didnt explain it clearly. Add little water to maida/ all purpose and make like a paste.
This step is to protect the balls from breaking while frying.
Thanks for asking
